I am a Dainggatti Woman, and our country is around Kempsey. I really liked the smoking ceremony and hearing the stories of Uncle Wes. The story that I remember from Uncle was the about the creation of life, and how trees and animals came to be.
Working with Aunty Julie was interesting, she taught us the moves of the emu, the eel, the goanna and kangaroo. For Waranara I have been working with the Year 8 girls to teach them traditional dancing, and they are doing really well. It doesn't matter which culture you are from, we can all dance together as women.
I have enjoyed watching the boys doing the war cry, I feel intimidated by how serious they are. Ricky is a very very good leader and I am proud of what he has done, he motivates people to not be afraid.
