I am a Dharug girl, so Glenwood is on my country. I liked the dreamtime stories of Uncle Wes, he told us lots. He asked us if any of our parents were called Michelle, and told us that it is an Aboriginal name and told us the story of the name. He knew a lot about culture, and told us the stories that his father had told him as a boy. Uncle Lex was great because he told the boys about culture, about the purpose of the war cry.

In Waranara I have been involved in the dance, I like it because I can share about culture with my year group, but I have learnt a lot too. I was talking to my Mum about it, and we agreed that it would be good it people knew more about our culture and this has been a good way to start.

When the older girls leave I want to help teach the younger ones about dance, and work to keep Aboriginal dance alive at Glenwood.
